Two elegant hand painted Wine Glasses with Red Poppies…. The Red Poppy has been used since 1921 to commemorate military personnel who have died in war. Inspired by the World War I poem “In Flanders Fields” they were first adopted by the American Legion to commemorate American soldiers killed in that war (1914-1918). Today have become a familiar tradition in almost every American community. The distribution of the bright red memorial flower to the public is one of the oldest and most widely recognized programs of the American Legion Auxiliary during Veterans Day.
